We completed on the purchase of the house we’d been trying to buy for the last 6+ months and are now actually living here!
It has been hard — we’ve really struggled with setting up basic stuff like a kitchen (there used to be a pet bird in the kitchen so that is requiring a deep clean). There’s more work, and more urgent work, than we understood: lead pipes, unsafe electrics, no plumbing for a dishwasher to name a few.
However, it feels safe. I’ve never slept as well as I am sleeping in the back room tucked away at the top of the house. There’s definitely so much potential for making an amazing home here. And we love Carmarthen — we’ve been to some of the Ffres festival; various Local Motion events including a great walk around Carmarthen questioning who we build monuments to; and are attending a really beautiful singing group, Still We Sing.
